Nestled in the scenic landscapes of Pennsylvania, Lahey Family Park offers a delightful escape for families and fun-seekers alike. During a trip to Pennsylvania for a friend’s wedding, we had the chance to explore this family-run park and its intriguing mini golf courses. While in the area, near the Pink Putter’s usual haunts in the Lehigh Valley, we were drawn to Lahey Family Park, particularly because its name playfully echoed “Trailer Park Boys,” the popular Canadian comedy show. Although we didn’t find any drunken trailer park supervisors, we did discover a charming spot perfect for a round of mini golf.

Upon arrival, Lahey Family Park presented two mini golf options: the Mountain Streams course and the Falls Course. Opting for a bit more of a challenge, we chose to navigate the Mountain Streams course. This decision proved to be a good one, as the course showcased a thoughtful design that utilized the natural slope of the terrain and incorporated a significant water feature that meandered throughout the play area.

The layout of the Mountain Streams course at Lahey Family Park was undeniably well-considered, providing a good level of challenge for players without being overly frustrating. The holes offered a nice variety, keeping the game engaging as we moved from one to the next. However, it became apparent that the course was facing some maintenance challenges. While the design’s potential for a high rating was evident, issues with upkeep held it back. We encountered wear and tear on the greens and putting carpets, and some hole foundations were deteriorating.

Despite these maintenance concerns, the inherent charm of Lahey Family Park’s Mountain Streams course shone through. The setting was pleasant, and the natural slope provided interesting contours for the holes. The water feature added an attractive visual element and came into play strategically throughout the course. Even with a few lost balls along the way – three in total by the end of our game – the overall experience remained enjoyable.
