Joseph Ferrara MD – Plumsteadville Family Practice

Dr. Joseph D. Ferrara has been a cornerstone of Plumsteadville Family Practice since 1987. Board certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Ferrara completed his specialty training at Columbia’s Family Practice Residency Program at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. His medical education includes a degree from the University of Virginia and Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Ferrara is deeply involved in the Doylestown community, serving as a sports team physician, a health educator in local schools, and a volunteer at the Ann Silverman Free Clinic of Doylestown Hospital. His medical interests are broad, encompassing sports medicine, wrestling injuries, and global health, highlighted by his role as medical director for a clinic in Port au Prince, Haiti. Dr. Ferrara is a dedicated family man, married and father to five children.

Dr. Elizabeth McKenna brought her expertise to Plumsteadville Family Practice in 1999, following her Family Practice Residency at Abington Memorial Hospital, where she also served as Chief Resident. Originally from South Williamsport, PA, Dr. McKenna earned her B.S. in microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991 and her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University Medical School in Hershey. Board Certified in Family Medicine, Dr. McKenna focuses on women’s health and preventative care, ensuring her patients receive proactive and comprehensive medical attention. She resides in Chalfont with her husband, where they have raised three sons. Outside of her practice at Plumsteadville Family Practice, Dr. McKenna enjoys exercise, gardening, reading, and traveling.

Dr. Scott Blore has deep roots in Bucks County, having lived in the area since he was five years old. A graduate of the Central Bucks School System in 1991 and the University of Scranton in 1995 with a Biology major and minors in English and Philosophy, Dr. Blore earned his Doctorate of Medicine from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in 1999. He completed a Family Medicine Residency at East Carolina University and a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine in 2004. During his time as faculty at East Carolina University as an Associate Professor, he also obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Dr. Blore joined Plumsteadville Family Practice in 2004 and is an active member of the medical staff at Doylestown Hospital and Pine Run Health Center. He is also actively involved in the Doylestown Presbyterian Church. His medical interests include sports medicine, offering his services as a team physician. In his free time, Dr. Blore enjoys ice hockey, cycling, and spending quality time with his family.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Delaware (2012), a Certificate of Science from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biomedical Sciences, and a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Salus University (2016). Brittany’s passion for family medicine is evident in her patient care approach at Plumsteadville Family Practice. Outside of her professional life, Brittany enjoys family time with her husband, two children, and golden retriever. Karen Anderson, CRNP, is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who recently transitioned to Plumsteadville Family Practice from Doylestown Health Primary Care. She graduated from Drexel University in 2019 with her MSN-FNP degree, bringing with her 15 years of RN experience across various healthcare settings, including Med-Surg, Home Care, case management, and wound specialty. Born and raised in Bucks County, Karen has resided in Plumsteadville for the past 20 years with her husband, raising their three children. Her patient care philosophy at Plumsteadville Family Practice is rooted in a patient-centered holistic approach. Karen is committed to being not only a healthcare provider but also an advocate and resource for her patients’ better health. In her personal time, she enjoys family activities, traveling, gardening, and running or cycling.

She is a board-certified Physician Assistant and is also certified to perform CDL physicals, expanding the services offered at Plumsteadville Family Practice. Shannon currently lives in Montgomeryville with her husband and son. She is active in her church community and enjoys running and spending time with family and friends.
