Born to Ivan and Marjorie Holden, Marjorie was known for her unwavering kindness, inner strength, and warm spirit, qualities that profoundly impacted everyone she encountered. Marjorie’s legacy continues through her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Leach Sr., a partnership built on unwavering devotion and mutual respect. Their children, Amy Leach Egeland and Robert Leach Jr., along with Robert Jr.’s wife Deanna, stand as inheritors of her compassionate spirit and resilient nature. Marjorie’s joy was multiplied by her six grandchildren: Stephen Egeland, David Egeland Jr., Elizabeth Egeland and her partner Joesph Poirer, Rodney Leach and his wife Rebecca, Callie Leach and her fiance Nicholas Tambolleo, and Timothy Leach and his wife Casey. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, each bringing immense joy to her life. Her siblings, Polly Aho, Susan Babineau, Ellen Santangelo and her husband Jack, Sally Conklin and her husband Anthony, and her brother Ernest Holden, along with numerous nieces and nephews, also mourn her passing, remembering her as a loving aunt and sister. She was predeceased by her son-in-law David Egeland, Sr.
Throughout her life in Lancaster, Marjorie was a beacon of energy and generosity. Her professional life was diverse and community-focused. She dedicated years to Bolton Orchards, becoming a familiar and friendly face to many. Later, she brought joy to Lancaster’s children as a school bus driver, known for her warmth and humor. Alongside her husband, Marjorie also played a vital role in managing Leach Heavy Equipment Repair for over four decades, demonstrating her strong work ethic and partnership. In more recent years, her caring nature shone brightly as a driver for adult special needs students, a role she found deeply fulfilling.
Marjorie’s faith was central to her life, exemplified by her deep involvement with the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Leominster. Her faith was a guiding force, evident in her joyful presence within the congregation. Her love for music was shared through her piano playing, filling the church and her home with melodies that resonated with warmth and faith. Beyond her musical contributions, Marjorie enjoyed sewing, creating numerous quilts as tokens of love and comfort. Her love for animals, gardening, and sharing ministry bookmarks and flowers with her sisters further illustrated her kind and giving nature.
An adventurous spirit, Marjorie once held a pilot’s license, a testament to her courage and desire to explore new horizons. This achievement became a fond family anecdote, reflecting her spirited approach to life.
A service celebrating Marjorie’s remarkable life will be held at The Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 445 Union Street in Leominster, on Wednesday, November 6th at 11 am. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring and remembering Marjorie.
