KIMBALL TWP. – Kimball Township welcomes a new culinary gem, Crossroads Family Restaurant, a family-owned establishment dedicated to serving up delicious southern cuisine with a generous side of warm smiles and community spirit.
Officially opening its doors on June 9th, Crossroads Family Restaurant is the realization of a long-held dream for owners Chris and Jackie Moody. Bringing together over 35 years of combined experience in the food service industry, the Moodys envisioned a restaurant where exceptional customer service and a positive, equitable work environment for employees are paramount.
“Our primary focus here, with every member of our team, is to cultivate a space where everyone is treated with fairness and respect,” explains Chris Moody.
Located at 4520 Griswold Road in Kimball Township, Crossroads Family Restaurant has quickly become a local favorite in its first weeks of operation, attracting a loyal clientele. Employee Leah Galeski notes the rapid establishment of regulars, “We have guests who are already visiting us multiple times each day,” she shares.
Creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for diners was a core objective for the Moodys. This commitment is encapsulated in the restaurant’s heartfelt motto: “God bless and see you soon.” Chris and Jackie Moody emphasize that every dish prepared and served at Crossroads Family Restaurant is infused with genuine care and passion.
“Everyone on our team brings a wealth of experience, and we are all dedicated to delighting our community,” Chris Moody states.
Beyond serving delectable meals, Jackie Moody emphasizes the restaurant’s commitment to giving back to the community they call home. Crossroads Family Restaurant has already demonstrated this dedication by providing lunch to the Kimball Township Fire Department and Indian Woods Elementary School. Jackie Moody’s community involvement extends further, with donations to suicide awareness organizations and the YOUth Matter! mental health awareness event.
“Whenever a community need is brought to my attention, I make every effort to contribute in any way I can,” Jackie Moody explains. “I’ve lived in this area my entire life, and giving back to the community is incredibly important to me.”
Looking ahead, Jackie Moody also shared that Crossroads Family Restaurant is planning to become a sponsor for the Port Huron Little League, further solidifying their commitment to local youth and activities.
Chris Moody, originally hailing from Houston, Texas, brings authentic family recipes to the heart of Michigan. The menu at Crossroads Family Restaurant features dishes passed down through three generations of his family, promising a genuine taste of southern home-style cooking. Furthermore, the restaurant prioritizes supporting local businesses by sourcing ingredients from vendors within the community.
Among the standout menu items are the freshly squeezed lemonades and the interactive potato bar. The potato bar allows customers to customize a jumbo potato with a wide array of toppings. Chris Moody estimates the restaurant’s popularity is evident in the daily sales, with approximately 100 lemonades and 60 potatoes being served to delighted customers each day.
The Moodys have ambitious plans for the future, expressing their aspiration to open a second Crossroads Family Restaurant location in Macomb County. Adding to their entrepreneurial family spirit, three of their sons are also planning to launch a food truck within the next year. This mobile extension of Crossroads Family Restaurant will offer a condensed version of their beloved menu, bringing southern flavors on the road.
