Troy Family Aquatic Center Review: A Focus on Family Fun and Safety
Upon visiting Troy Family Aquatic Center, the immediate impression is the park’s commitment to both fun and safety, particularly for younger guests. Lifeguards are readily present at each pool, splash area, and waterslide zone, ensuring a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Main Pool Features: The expansive 11,000 square foot main pool offers a “zero-depth” entry, eliminating the risks associated with traditional pool ladders or jumping. The majority of the pool maintains a depth of less than 4 feet, making it family-friendly and accessible for various swimming abilities. For more serious swimmers, the “deep end” reaches 5 feet and includes 6 designated 25-yard swimming lanes. Lifeguard stands strategically positioned throughout the pool deck provide excellent supervision. Notably, diving boards are absent, and diving is not permitted, further enhancing safety.
Thrilling Waterslides: Beyond a community pool, Troy Aquatic Center elevates the experience with two impressive water slides that cascade into a dedicated, lifeguard-monitored pool. Grab a complimentary tube and glide down the 175-foot inner tube slide, or opt for a body slide for an equally exciting descent. Both slides have a height restriction of 42 inches, and children under 10 years old require adult supervision.

Kids’ Splash Zone: Younger children and less confident swimmers will love the dedicated smaller waterslide and splash pad area. Kids can safely splash and play under gentle waterfalls and interact with fun geysers.
Beyond the Pools: Troy Aquatic Center extends the fun beyond the water with a spacious and modern playground, a sand playground (complete with foot showers to rinse off), and two well-maintained sand volleyball courts.
Picnic and Concessions: Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic lunches and enjoy them at the numerous picnic tables scattered around the Aquatic Center. Alternatively, a spacious and affordable concession stand offers a variety of food and drink options.
Clean, Well-Managed, and Compact: Despite being over 20 years old, the Aquatic Center is remarkably clean, modern, and efficiently managed. The compact design of the facility is a major plus, ensuring that all areas are within easy walking distance. Unlike sprawling waterparks, keeping an eye on children at TFAC is remarkably easy. While Metro Detroit boasts larger waterparks with bigger slides and wave pools, TFAC provides an idyllic and budget-friendly waterpark experience, particularly ideal for families with younger children seeking warm-weather fun.
