Exciting New Youth Innovation Hub Coming to Greendale Family Branch YMCA

The Greendale Family Branch Ymca in Worcester, MA, is thrilled to announce a significant renovation project set to transform its facilities and enhance services for local youth. Working in partnership with Timberline Construction’s design-build team, this exciting project will begin this spring, promising a state-of-the-art Youth Innovation and Learning Development Hub.

This 4,000 square foot renovation at the Greendale Family Branch YMCA is dedicated to creating a vibrant and engaging space for children and teens up to 18 years old. The new hub is thoughtfully designed to include educational, recreational, and social areas, all under one roof. Key features of the development include a dedicated STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) space and a specialized Teen Center. These improvements will directly benefit YMCA members, childcare participants, and summer campers, enriching their experiences and opportunities.

The Youth Innovation and Learning Development Hub at the Greendale Family Branch YMCA is designed to be a place of discovery and growth. The STEAM Lab will offer a dynamic environment where children can explore new concepts, experiment collaboratively, and build a sense of accomplishment through hands-on activities. For older children and teenagers, the Teen Center will serve as a dedicated space to foster development and confidence. Equipped with a tech bar, social areas, and enrichment zones, the Teen Center aims to support the crucial transition from childhood to adolescence within a supportive community environment at the Greendale Family Branch YMCA. Furthermore, recognizing the needs of the youngest members, a dedicated gross motor skills space will provide a safe and nurturing area for toddlers and preschoolers to take their first steps, engage in play, and build early friendships.

“The Greendale Family Branch YMCA is incredibly grateful for the generous support from our local community donors, who have been instrumental in making this transformative renovation a reality,” stated Christina Puleo, Senior Executive Director of the YMCA Greendale Family Branch. “We are delighted to collaborate with Timberline Construction, whose in-house architectural design and construction management teams are expertly guiding us through this design-build renovation. We anticipate completion of this project before the year’s end, bringing a fantastic new resource to the heart of Worcester.”
