Founded in 2004 by Drs. Lisa and Stan Duchman, Duchman Family Winery emerged from a passion to cultivate world-class wines right in Central Texas, within the picturesque Texas Hill Country. Inspired by their affinity for unique Italian grape varietals and the similar Texan climate, the Duchmans embarked on a journey to partner with expert viticultural consultants and growers in the Texas High Plains AVA. This collaboration aimed to source grapes perfectly suited for their winemaker, Dave Reilly, to craft exceptional wines, experimenting with varieties like Vermentino, Sangiovese, and Dolcetto.
Today, Duchman Family Winery proudly continues to source the majority of its grapes from the Texas High Plains AVA. This region’s cooler temperatures and continental climate provide ideal conditions for nurturing fine Italian grape varietals. As Duchman Family Winery expands, their commitment remains steadfast: to produce approachable, fine wines in Central Texas, exclusively using Texan-grown fruit. Looking towards the future, Duchman Family Winery is dedicated to pioneering innovative winemaking and grape growing techniques.
