- July 21, 2024: Corridor Corporate Games. Park closed from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
- July 25-27, 2024: Titan Disc Golf Tournament. Park closed from sunrise to sunset.
- August 23-25, 2024: Scheels 3D Archery Shoot. Park closed from sunrise to sunset.

Altmaier Family Park, transformed from a former family farm, opened its gates in the fall of 2018. This family-friendly space was thoughtfully developed through the collaborative efforts of volunteers from the Iowa River Disc Golf Club, the Altmaier family, and dedicated city parks staff. The park boasts an impressive 18-hole disc golf course and a charming barnyard family games area, perfect for picnics and lawn games.

Future enhancements for this family park include the addition of horseshoe pits and outdoor ping pong tables, promising even more recreational options for visitors. Please note that the Archery Range has been relocated to Creekside Ballpark.
Altmaier Family Park Hours of Operation
When Altmaier Family Park is open for public enjoyment, you can visit during the following hours:
- Monday – Friday: 11:00 am to Dusk
- Saturday & Sunday: Dawn to Dusk
The park gates serve as the indicator for opening hours – if the gates are open, the park is accessible. However, please be aware that closures may occur due to blasting operations at a neighboring quarry, inclement weather conditions such as wet grounds, necessary repairs and maintenance, or special events, in addition to the scheduled closures listed above. Always check for the most up-to-date status before visiting this family park.
Restroom Facilities at the Family Park
For visitor convenience, a portable restroom is available on-site at Altmaier Family Park. Please note that there is no running water available at the park.

Altmaier Family Park is conveniently located at 3444 Deer Creek Road. To reach this family park, take Highway 6 west past Lowes and turn onto Deer Creek Road. Proceed on Deer Creek Road over the bridge and continue south for approximately one half mile. The park entrance will be on your left.
