Corey D. Comperatore, a beloved family man and respected community member of Sarver, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, at the age of 50. His life, marked by love, service, and unwavering faith, leaves a lasting impact on all who knew him. Born on June 16, 1974, in Natrona Heights, Corey was the cherished son of Karen Bird and the late Carl L. Comperatore. From his early years, Corey demonstrated a commitment to his community and a strong work ethic.
A Foundation of Service and Dedication
Corey proudly graduated from Freeport High School in 1992 before dedicating ten years of service to the US Army Reserves. This commitment to his country was a testament to his character and sense of duty. Following his military service, Corey channeled his dedication into his professional career, becoming a highly skilled project and tooling engineer at JSP. His colleagues respected his expertise and meticulous approach to his work.
Beyond his professional achievements, Corey was deeply invested in his local community. A devout member of the Cabot Church, his faith was a cornerstone of his life. He also served the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department for many years, notably as chief in the early 2000s. His leadership and bravery within the fire department showcased his selfless nature and desire to protect those around him.

However, Corey’s most defining role was as a devoted family man. He was, in every sense, the quintessential family patriarch and an exceptional “girl dad.” His marriage to his wife, Helen (Scott) Comperatore, was a beautiful example of partnership and unwavering love. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising two daughters, Allyson and Kaylee Comperatore. Corey’s daughters were the center of his world, and he instilled in them the values of compassion, resilience, and kindness that he embodied. The bonds within the corey comperatore family are a testament to his loving nature and dedication to his wife and children.
Corey is also survived by his mother, Karen (Denny) Bird; his sisters, Kelly (Doug) Meeder and Dawn Comperatore Shaffer; his stepbrother, Steven (Megan) Warheit; his loyal Dobermans, Ivan and Negan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces. Each member of his extended family felt his warmth and generosity.

Corey’s life was a true reflection of his faith. He lived as a man of God, with a deep and abiding love for Jesus. His beliefs guided his actions and inspired those around him to live with purpose and grace. Corey possessed an extraordinary ability to uplift others, always ready with a kind word or helping hand.
His courage was not about grand gestures, but about quiet strength and resilience. He had the courage to be vulnerable, to lead with love, and to face life’s challenges with unwavering faith. Corey’s legacy is woven into the countless acts of kindness that defined his daily life. He was always willing to help those in need, never seeking recognition or reward. His profound impact on the lives he touched will be remembered for years to come.
Friends are invited to celebrate Corey’s life and offer their respects on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Laube Hall, 115 Community Park Road, Freeport, PA 16229.
Private funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Jonathan Fehl, who will honor Corey’s faith and the immeasurable love he shared with everyone.
