Remembering Curtis Busby: A Pillar of the Community and the Busby Family

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Curtis Busby, a cherished member of the community and a devoted part of the Busby Family, on October 6th, 2024. Curtis dedicated an impressive 22 years to the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office, Jack Harwell Division, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering dedication, loyalty, and a steadfast commitment to the safety and well-being of the community he served so faithfully.

Beyond his commendable career in law enforcement, Curtis Busby found joy and solace in the simple things life had to offer. He was an avid outdoorsman, embracing the tranquility of fishing and the camaraderie of camping trips. These passions reflected his inherently calm and patient demeanor. Above all else, Curtis’s world revolved around his cherished friends and, most importantly, his extensive and loving Busby family.

Curtis is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Pam Busby, who stood by his side through life’s journey. His legacy continues through his children: Robert and Angie Colburn, Felicia and Miranda Hollingsworth, Derrick Jorgenson, Rojo and Christen Leal, Austin and Holley, Elizabeth, Kallee, and Rhyder Jorgenson. The Busby family tree further blossoms with his adored grandchildren: Rachelle, Robert, Callie, Payton, and Chloe; and Cory and Billy, along with 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom were profoundly touched by Curtis’s presence and love.

Born into the Busby family to Herman and Rosa Busby, Curtis embodied the values of kindness, generosity, and integrity instilled in him from a young age. These principles shaped not only his life but also his interactions with everyone he met. He was a source of light and laughter, always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand, embodying the true spirit of the Busby family values. His profound sense of duty was only surpassed by his deep love for his family and friends, who remained at the very heart of his life’s endeavors.

Curtis was predeceased by his sister, Sherry Busby. He will be remembered not just for his strength and service, but for his inherent kindness and his selfless nature, consistently placing the needs of others before his own.

The memory of Curtis Busby will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy of service, love, and kindness will continue to resonate through the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Curtis will be deeply missed, but his spirit will never be forgotten by the Busby family and the wider community.

A celebration of Curtis’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 15th, at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 5783 W. Lake Creek Road, Riesel. All friends and family are invited to join in honoring a man who selflessly gave so much to others. May he rest in eternal peace.
