What are the Dates and Times for the Christmas Train in 2024?

The Christmas Train kicks off on Friday, November 29, 2024, and continues on select nights throughout December. Gates open at 6:00 pm, with guests who have pre-registered tickets gaining priority entry. The first train departs at 6:30 pm, and trains run approximately every half hour, with the last ride scheduled for 9:00 pm if needed. All included activities conclude at 9:00 pm, and the gates close promptly at 10:00 pm each evening.

How Much are Tickets, and Who Needs One?

We request a contribution of $19.99 per person in advance for ages 10 and up, or $25 at the gate if tickets are still available. Children ages 3-9 are $12.99 in advance and $15 at the gate, availability permitting. Children 2 and under are FREE and do not require a ticket. Children 2 and under may be required to sit on a parent or guardian’s lap on the train. Purchase advance tickets by clicking the ticket button at the top of this page.

Is a Fast-Pass Option Available?

Due to popular demand, we are offering a Fast-Pass add-on this year! Combined with your admission ticket, the Fast-Pass grants expedited access to the front of the line for the Christmas Train, the tractor ride, and any operating amusement rides. Please note: Fast-Pass does NOT include priority access for visits with Santa or the Elf Shoppe. A very limited number of Fast-Passes are available each night for an additional $10 per pass. The Fast-Pass option can be added to your order when purchasing tickets online.

Operating on a Tight Budget This Holiday Season?

We are proud to offer the most affordable and best value full-size Christmas Train experience in Florida, complete with numerous extra activities beyond the train ride itself. However, we understand that some families are working with limited budgets. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the Christmas Train and our other events. Our “Help Us, Help You” program offers a way to participate by volunteering for a day. In return for your volunteer time, you’ll receive an all-inclusive pass for yourself or to gift to someone else. Your ticket to the Christmas Train event includes:

Please note that food and souvenir purchases are not included in the ticket price and are available for an additional cost.

*Important Note: The experience on December 26th, after Christmas Day, offers a modified activity list. While it includes all activities listed above except for visits with Santa and the Elf Shoppe, it still provides a wonderful holiday outing.

How Can I Purchase Tickets in Advance?

Pre-registration is highly recommended! Space is limited for each night of operation. To ensure all guests can fully enjoy every aspect of the evening, we strongly advise pre-registering for admission online. Pre-registration may also grant you early entry to the farm.

Where Can I Pre-register for Tickets?

You can pre-register online through our Online Ticket Center. If tickets remain available on the night of an event, they can be purchased at the gate. However, many event nights SELL OUT, so please check availability in advance if you plan to purchase tickets on the day of your visit. What are Will-Call Tickets?

Guests who choose the will-call option may need to pick up their passes at our designated will-call kiosks upon arrival. Our friendly volunteer family members will be available to assist you with will-call ticket retrieval. Please have your photo ID and confirmation number ready for verification.

Are Refunds or Exchanges Available?

We do not offer refunds or exchanges. All proceeds are considered donations supporting the Kirby Family Farm educational organization and museum and its programs for at-risk and special needs children. We recommend carefully confirming your desired dates with family and friends before purchasing tickets. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost, stolen, or destroyed. Due to high demand, tickets are valid only for the specific event date and time for which they were issued.

What Time Should We Arrive?

Gates open at 6:00 pm. Guests with advance tickets may be granted early entry. Please note that farm access and food services are not available before 6:00 pm. The first train departs at 6:30 pm, with subsequent departures every half hour.

What Items are Permitted to Bring?

Folding chairs and blankets are welcome for your comfort. Camcorders and cameras are also permitted to capture your Christmas memories. Since the farm grounds are expansive, bringing folding chairs provides relaxation options throughout the evening. Please note that profanity, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, and firearms are prohibited on the premises. Smoking and tobacco use are allowed only in designated smoking areas. No pets are permitted.

Are Food Options Available at the Event?

Yes! We offer a variety of food options, including boiled peanuts, hotdogs, hamburgers, nachos, ribbon fries, funnel cakes, cotton candy, kettle popcorn, drinks, and other snacks. Picnic tables are available for enjoying your meals, or you are welcome to use your folding chairs. Please be aware that some vendors may not accept credit or debit cards, so bringing some cash is recommended for food purchases.

May We Bring Our Own Coolers with Food and Drinks?

We apologize, but outside food and beverages, including coolers, are not permitted onto Kirby Family Farm property. Alcoholic beverages are also prohibited on the premises.

Are Large Groups Accommodated?

Yes, we gladly accommodate groups of all sizes with advance registration. Bus access is available. Groups of 50 or more with advance booking can ride in their own dedicated railroad car, and groups of 200 or more can even have their own private train! For groups of 20 or more, we can arrange customized package deals that may include meal vouchers and additional featured activities. Large groups are encouraged to arrive by 5:30 pm to enjoy the first train ride and maximize their time for other activities. What Happens in Case of Inclement Weather?

The Christmas Train event operates rain or shine. We make every effort to remain open on all scheduled event dates. In the event of high winds, certain activities may be temporarily suspended for safety reasons. The Christmas Express does not offer refunds or exchanges for those unable to attend due to weather conditions on their scheduled night. In the rare event of a complete cancellation, we will post notifications online and update our main phone recording at 352-812-7435. Tickets for an alternative date or future visit may be offered at the discretion of management in case of a cancellation.

Is the Event Wheelchair and Stroller Accessible?

Kirby Family Farm is wheelchair and stroller accessible and has successfully hosted many guests using mobility aids. The train itself is wheelchair accessible. However, as it is a working farm, we recommend exercising discretion regarding terrain conditions in certain areas.
