The highly anticipated Allman Betts Family Revival is set to return for its 8th year, bringing its celebration of music and legacy to fans across the United States. This annual tour, a heartfelt homage to the iconic Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, and the timeless music of The Allman Brothers Band, has announced its 2024 tour dates and an initial lineup of stellar musicians. Kicking off on November 30th in Saint Charles, IL, the tour will journey through numerous cities before culminating on December 21st with a special performance at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco.
Expanding its reach this year, the Allman Betts Family Revival will be visiting new cities including Minneapolis, Seattle, and Kansas City, alongside returning to beloved venues. This expansion speaks to the growing popularity and enduring appeal of the music and the tribute.
Devon Allman shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming tour, stating, “We are so excited to continue onto the eighth year of this wonderful celebration of our father’s music. It’s a high honor to play this music with our talented friends. With the number 8 also being the symbol for infinity, we want the fans to know we’re doing our part to help this music live forever in a live format. We hope to continue to take them back in time.”
Duane Betts echoed this sentiment, adding, “With this being the first Revival since my father’s passing, it means even more to me to play this great music with family and friends. Each Allman Betts Family Revival show is structured to take audiences on a musical journey through the Allman Brothers Band’s history. The first set will immerse fans in the sounds of the 1970s Duane Allman era, while the second set will highlight the band’s remarkable 1990s comeback period. Leading these performances will be The Allman Betts Band, joined by an extraordinary roster of talent including Luther Dickinson and Cody Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars, the soulful Jimmy Hall (renowned for his work with Jeff Beck and Wet Willie), the captivating Lindsay Lou, the dynamic Lamar Williams Jr., Alex Orbison (carrying on the musical legacy of his father Roy Orbison), the versatile Jackie Greene, blues guitarist Larry McCray, and the electrifying Anders Osborne.
Adding to the excitement, select cities will feature appearances by special guests such as bluegrass virtuoso Sierra Hull, rising guitar sensation Grace Bowers, bluesman G. Love, and ukulele master Jake Shimabukuro. Fans can anticipate further lineup announcements and surprise appearances as the tour dates approach.
A signature element of the Allman Betts Family Revival experience is the return of The Brotherhood of Light, who provided mesmerizing visual accompaniment for the Allman Brothers Band for over two decades.
