This wonderful community space, located within City Park next to the basketball courts, officially opened its gates in October 2020, thanks to the collaborative spirit of Harrisonville residents, local organizations, elected officials, and dedicated City staff.
This dog park stands as a shining example of what a public-private partnership can achieve. The entire project was funded through the generosity of the Harrisonville community. Notable contributions include a significant donation from the Mills family and Family Center Farm & Home in Harrisonville MO, who generously provided all the fencing materials for the park. This key contribution highlights the commitment of local businesses like Family Center Farm & Home to enhancing community spaces in Harrisonville.

Plan Your Visit: Park Hours
The Family Center Farm & Home Dog Park in Harrisonville is designed for year-round enjoyment with seasonal hours to maximize daylight and safety.
Park Hours:
- Spring, Summer, and Fall: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Winter: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
These hours ensure that both early risers and those looking for an evening dog walk can take advantage of this fantastic Harrisonville facility.
Dog Park Rules & Regulations
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone at the Family Center Farm & Home Dog Park, please adhere to the following rules. These regulations are in place to protect the well-being of all dogs and their handlers and are consistent with the City of Harrisonville’s ordinances.
For any actions not explicitly covered in these rules, please refer to Chapter 210 (Animal Regulations) of the Municipal Code of Ordinances for the City of Harrisonville.
- Dog Park Use Only: The off-leash area is exclusively for dogs and their handlers. No other animals or activities are permitted.
- No Aggressive Dogs: Dogs displaying aggressive behavior are prohibited. Handlers must immediately remove their dog at the first sign of aggression.
- Handler Responsibility: Handlers are liable for any injuries or damage caused by their dogs.
- Use at Your Own Risk: The City of Harrisonville is not responsible for injuries or damages within the dog park. Use the park at your own risk.
- Report Dog Bites: All animal-to-human bites must be reported to the Harrisonville Animal Control Department immediately.
- Age Restrictions for Dogs: Dogs must be at least 4 months old to enter the park.
- Spayed/Neutered and Vaccinated: All dogs must be spayed or neutered and have up-to-date vaccinations.
- Voice Control: Dogs must be under the handler’s voice control and within sight at all times.
- Leash Required On Entry/Exit: Dogs must be leashed (maximum 6 feet) when entering and exiting the staging area.
- No Spiked Collars: Spiked collars are not allowed for safety reasons.
- Children Under 5 Prohibited: Children under 5 years old are not allowed in the off-leash area.
- Children 5-15 Supervision: Children aged 5-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Minimum Handler Age: Handlers must be at least 16 years old.
- Leash Possession: Handlers must always have the dog’s leash in their possession.
- Two Dog Limit: A maximum of two dogs per handler is permitted.
- Clean Up After Your Dog: Handlers are required to “scoop the poop” and dispose of waste in the provided containers.
- No Glass Bottles: Glass bottles are not allowed within the dog park.
