Looking for the perfect fall family getaway? Just a short drive away, Kuipers Family Farm in Maple Park, Illinois, offers an unforgettable day of autumn আনন্দ (ānanda – joy in Bengali) and activities for all ages. My family recently spent a delightful day at Kuipers, and it’s safe to say we created memories that will last a lifetime. From picture-perfect spots to thrilling slides and delicious treats, Kuipers Family Farm truly has it all.
Welcome to Kuipers Family Farm for a day of fall fun and family memories.
One of the first things you’ll notice about Kuipers Family Farm is the abundance of charming photo opportunities. Every corner of the farm seems designed for capturing those precious family moments. My six-year-old, Isaac, a natural in front of the camera, had a blast posing with the various fall-themed displays.

Even my son David, who needs to be careful about germs, couldn’t resist joining in on the photo fun when he was feeling up to it. The farm’s atmosphere is just so inviting and cheerful, it’s hard not to smile and want to document every moment.

Despite a cloudy sky on the day of our visit, the farm was vibrant and full of color, providing a beautiful backdrop for our family photos. It truly showcases that even on an overcast day, Kuipers Family Farm shines.

For families with older children seeking a bit more thrill, “Slide Mountain” is a must-try. This extra-long slide brought peals of laughter and excitement from my older kids. They couldn’t get enough of the exhilarating ride down!

They went down Slide Mountain multiple times, their joy infectious, before we managed to coax them to explore other parts of the farm. It’s definitely a highlight for the adventurous kids (and adults!).

Close to Slide Mountain, you’ll find “The Maze,” Kuipers’ impressive corn maze. While we opted out of the main corn maze this time (perhaps another day when we’re feeling extra brave!), we did venture into the beginner maze.

This turned out to be the perfect choice for our family with younger children. It was challenging enough to be fun but not so overwhelming that we risked getting completely lost.

The kids absolutely loved navigating the twists and turns, feeling a sense of accomplishment as they found their way out. It was a great way to enjoy the corn maze experience without the stress of a massive, complex maze.

And for even more corn-filled fun, instead of the big maze, we let the kids play in the corn pit. Let me tell you, corn kernels are much easier to manage than sand when it comes to cleanup! The corn pit was a hit, providing a sensory and playful experience for the little ones.

Adjacent to The Maze is Squeelington Park, home to the entertaining pig races and cowboy roping shows. Pig races are definitely not an everyday sight, and the kids were thoroughly amused watching the little piggies dash to the finish line. Showtimes are conveniently posted so you can plan your visit accordingly.

If your children are feeling inspired by the cowboy shows, they even have an opportunity to test their own roping skills at a nearby station. It’s a fun, interactive activity that adds to the farm experience.

Scattered around the farm are even more delightful play areas. My kids particularly loved climbing and playing on the giant tractor tires. It brought back childhood memories for me – we actually had a tire like this in our backyard growing up! These massive tires at Kuipers are a nostalgic and fun play structure.

Right next to the tractor tires, there’s a real tractor where kids can let their imaginations run wild, pretending to be farmers and driving through fields.

Beyond these highlights, Kuipers Family Farm offers even more! You can enjoy bean bag toss games, get up close with adorable farm animals, pick your own pumpkins straight from the vine, and explore a whole host of other attractions listed on their website.
Our visit culminated in the quintessential fall activity: pumpkin picking. After finding the perfect pumpkins, we made sure to stop by and grab a dozen of Kuipers’ famous apple cider donuts before heading home.
