October is the perfect month to get creative with Halloween costumes, and embracing a family theme can amplify the fun! This year, our family decided to transform into the iconic Addams Family, and it was a hit! My daughter completely embodied Wednesday Addams, and my son was the spitting image of Pugsley. I even surprised myself as Morticia, and of course, my husband was a natural Gomez.

No Addams Family is complete without Cousin Itt! Creating our Cousin Itt costume was surprisingly simple and became a highlight of our family ensemble.

For our DIY Cousin Itt, we utilized two skeins of Bernat Softee Chunky yarn to completely cover a plastic Halloween treat bucket. This provided the perfect base and structure for the costume. To complete the look, we attached a hat using string, ensuring it was adjustable and allowed for easy access to the candy bucket underneath. This design is not only incredibly easy to make but also wonderfully practical for trick-or-treating!
