Many individuals seek to improve their smiles and overall dental health through various cosmetic and restorative procedures. For years, I, like many others, have been a satisfied patient of a dedicated dental professional who has significantly enhanced my smile and oral well-being. This journey involved addressing past dental issues and embracing modern cosmetic dentistry to achieve a smile I am truly confident in.
My dental history includes a sports injury from years ago that affected my upper central lateral incisors. This injury necessitated root canals on these two front teeth. Over time, a common side effect of root canals manifested as these teeth gradually darkened. Although a previous dentist had placed veneers to address the discoloration, the inherent translucency of veneers meant the underlying darkness still showed through, contrasting with my other teeth.
Seeking a more comprehensive and lasting solution, I consulted with Dr. Sanjeevan, who recommended replacing the veneers with full crowns. This recommendation was based on both functional and cosmetic considerations. Functionally, crowns offer superior strength and protection. Cosmetically, they provide complete coverage, effectively masking any underlying discoloration.
Prior to the crown procedure, Dr. Sanjeevan advised me to undergo teeth whitening. This strategic step ensured that the new crowns could be perfectly matched to the brighter shade of my naturally whitened teeth. Previously, teeth whitening was not a viable option for me as it would have only accentuated the darkness of the veneered teeth, which are unaffected by whitening treatments. Following the whitening process, Dr. Sanjeevan expertly placed the two crowns. The result was transformative. After years of being self-conscious about my front teeth, I finally had the awesome smile I had always desired.
Beyond cosmetic improvements, restorative dentistry has also played a crucial role in my dental health. Several years ago, a root canal on a first molar unfortunately failed, necessitating surgical removal of the tooth. Losing a molar can significantly impact chewing function and oral health. Dr. Sanjeevan strongly encouraged me to consider a dental implant to restore the missing tooth.
Recently, I decided to proceed with Dr. Sanjeevan’s advice. I underwent a successful surgical procedure by a local periodontist to place a titanium implant into my jawbone. After the implant integrated with the bone and the healing process was complete, I returned to Dr. Sanjeevan. He expertly installed the abutment, which acts as a connector post, and the final crown onto the implant.
For years, the absence of my first molar had forced me to favor chewing on the left side of my mouth, as the exposed gum area was sensitive and uncomfortable. Now, with a brand new, fully functional “tooth” in place, I can chew normally and comfortably on both sides of my mouth once again. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Sanjeevan for his expertise and guidance in restoring my chewing function and overall dental health.
My appreciation extends beyond Dr. Sanjeevan to his exceptional staff. Kera, the dental hygienist, provides thorough and gentle teeth cleaning twice a year. Shelly, the dental assistant, ensures my comfort and ease during every procedure performed by Dr. Sanjeevan. And Debbie, the ever-smiling receptionist, is invaluable in managing appointments and navigating dental insurance matters. Their collective professionalism and patient-centered approach contribute significantly to the positive experience at this dental practice.
