We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering excellent patient care by assisting providers with clinical and telephone duties. You will also support medical staff with clerical tasks, data entry, referrals, and routine patient communication, all within your scope of practice.
Your responsibilities will include performing telephone and walk-in triage, conducting patient assessments (vital signs, screenings), updating patient records in our EHR system, managing medications and allergies, providing patient education, maintaining clean and well-stocked clinical areas, and participating in staff meetings. Under provider direction, you will perform on-site testing, administer injections and vaccinations, perform EKGs, assist with procedures, and manage routine wound care.
To be successful in this role at Family Care Health Center, you should have a Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program and current national certification/registration as a medical assistant. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential. The role requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 75 lbs). You should be comfortable working in a clinic environment with potential exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases.
Physical demands of the position include a high degree of manual and digital dexterity, constant standing and walking, frequent bending and stretching, and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds and pushing up to 200 pounds.
