Discover the Family Center Farm & Home Dog Park in Harrisonville, Missouri

Harrisonville, Missouri, is now home to a fantastic amenity for dog lovers and their furry companions: The Family Center Farm & Home Dog Park. Opened in October 2020, this dog park is the result of a wonderful collaboration between Harrisonville residents, local organizations, elected officials, and dedicated city staff, showcasing the strong community spirit of Harrisonville.

This exciting project is a prime example of a successful public-private partnership. Funding for the dog park was entirely sourced through the generous donations from the Harrisonville community. A particularly significant contribution came from the Mills family and Family Center Farm & Home, a well-known local establishment, which donated all the fencing materials for the park. Their commitment highlights the importance of local businesses like Family Center Farm & Home to the Harrisonville community.

We are delighted to offer this new space to our community and invite you and your canine friends to come and enjoy some off-leash fun!

Plan Your Visit: Dog Park Hours

The Family Center Farm & Home Dog Park welcomes visitors during the following hours:

Spring, Summer, and Fall: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Winter: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

These hours ensure that the park is accessible for early morning and evening playtime during warmer months, while adjusting for daylight hours in the winter.

Ensuring a Safe and Fun Environment: Park Rules

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all dogs and their handlers, please adhere to the following rules and regulations. These rules are in place for the well-being of everyone using the Family Center Farm & Home Dog Park and are aligned with the City of Harrisonville’s animal regulations Chapter 210 (Animal Regulations) of the Municipal Code of Ordinances for the City of Harrisonville.

  • This off-leash dog area is exclusively for dogs and their handlers. No other animals or activities are permitted within the dog park.
  • Dogs displaying aggressive behavior are not allowed in the park. Handlers must immediately remove their dog at the first sign of aggression to maintain a safe environment for all.
  • Handlers are responsible for any injuries or damages caused by their dogs. Please be attentive to your dog’s behavior and interactions with other dogs and people.
  • Use the Dog Park at your own risk. The City of Harrisonville is not responsible for any injuries or damages that may occur within the dog park.
  • Any dog-to-human bites must be reported to the City of Harrisonville Animal Control Department without delay. This is crucial for public safety and animal welfare.
  • Dogs younger than 4 months of age are not permitted in the dog park. This is for the safety and health of young puppies.
  • All dogs must be spayed or neutered and have up-to-date vaccinations to prevent the spread of disease and ensure responsible pet ownership.
  • Dogs must be under the voice control and within sight of their handler at all times. This ensures handlers can manage their dogs effectively.
  • Dogs must be on a leash (maximum six feet) when entering and exiting the designated off-leash area. Leashes are only to be removed once inside the park boundaries.
  • Spiked collars are prohibited in the dog park to prevent injuries during play.
  • Children under the age of five are not allowed in the off-leash area for their safety.
  • Children between the ages of 5 and 15 must be accompanied and closely supervised by an adult.
  • Handlers must be at least 16 years of age or older to ensure responsible supervision of dogs.
  • Handlers must always have the dog’s leash in their possession.
  • A maximum of two dogs per handler is allowed to ensure adequate supervision and control.
  • Handlers are required to “scoop the poop” and dispose of dog waste in the provided containers. Maintaining cleanliness is essential for everyone’s enjoyment.
  • Glass bottles are not permitted within the Dog Park area to prevent breakage and potential injuries.
