The Little Mermaid Costume – 2014
Our inaugural family Halloween costume, and perhaps still a favorite, was inspired by “The Little Mermaid.” With our eldest daughter captivated by Ariel’s world, it was a natural choice for our first coordinated family theme. While we purchased some elements, I always enjoy adding personal touches to make our costumes unique. Finding a ‘dinglehopper’ during a Disney trip elevated my daughter’s Ariel costume perfectly. Alice in Wonderland Costume – 2015
The following year presented a fun challenge for our Family Halloween Costume Ideas – pregnancy! I needed to consider costumes that would accommodate my growing baby bump. We briefly explored incorporating the pregnancy into the theme, but decided against it as it was still early on. “Alice in Wonderland” emerged as the perfect solution after my daughters watched the movie repeatedly. This family Halloween costume was perhaps the most challenging to bring to life. Despite the immense popularity of “The Greatest Showman,” ready-made costumes were surprisingly scarce. I had to creatively piece together outfits to achieve this theme, and I’m so glad I did. It became a family favorite, sparking conversations and excitement throughout the year! Hocus Pocus Family Costume – 2019
Dressing my three daughters as the Sanderson Sisters from “Hocus Pocus” was a long-held dream. I waited until they were old enough to appreciate the movie, making 2019 the perfect year.
