The vision for “Family Matters TV” was conceived and developed by Dr. Roberta Holt, the Bowen Center’s faculty representative, who also hosted the initial three seasons, inviting guests with diverse expertise relevant to families. The hosting role then transitioned to Allen Blakey (2009-2011), a communications and public relations professional and former advisory board member of the Center. From 2011 to 2018, Dr. Mariana Martinez, a faculty psychologist at the Bowen Center, guided the program. Currently, Kathleen Smith, PhD, LPC, a licensed professional counselor, writer, and Bowen Center faculty member, serves as the host, continuing the show’s legacy of insightful conversations.

Behind the scenes, Ed Jones, the general manager of UDC-TV, plays a pivotal role as the show’s producer since its inception. His unwavering dedication has been crucial in bringing “Family Matters TV” to air and maintaining its high quality and broad reach.
