Understanding Your Family Mobile Service: Key Terms and Conditions

Navigating the world of mobile phone services can be complex, and at Family Mobile, we believe in transparency. This overview clarifies essential aspects of our service, ensuring you have a clear understanding of what to expect.

Service Speeds and Data Usage

Like all mobile providers, network congestion can sometimes affect data speeds. During peak times, Family Mobile customers might experience reduced speeds compared to T-Mobile customers. For a small percentage of users who exceed 40GB of data usage in a month, speeds may be further reduced. We are committed to providing reliable service, and these measures help manage network resources effectively for all users.

4G LTE and 5G Access

To experience our fast 4G LTE speeds, you’ll need a 4G LTE capable device and a compatible SIM card. While 4G LTE coverage is widespread, actual availability, coverage, and speeds can vary depending on location and other factors. LTE is a trademark of ETSI.

Looking to the future, Family Mobile is also rolling out 5G service. To access 5G, you will need a 5G-capable device and SIM card. Please note that 5G network availability is still expanding and may not be available in all areas. Currently, 5G upload speeds are not yet available on our network. We are working hard to expand our 5G coverage and enhance your mobile experience.

Lifeline Benefit (SafeLink)

Family Mobile proudly supports the SafeLink Benefit, a service provided through the government’s Lifeline program. Lifeline is designed to make communication services more affordable for eligible consumers. Enrollment in Lifeline is limited to eligible individuals and is non-transferable, with a limit of one per household. To enroll, documentation of income or program participation may be required. Please be aware that SafeLink Benefit service is provided by TracFone Wireless, Inc., and is not currently available in all states, including Alaska, California, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oregon, South Dakota, Virgin Islands, and Wyoming.

Bring Your Own Phone

Want to switch to Family Mobile without changing your phone? Our Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) plan makes it easy! It requires an unlocked T-Mobile or GSM compatible phone, a Family Mobile activation kit, and a Family Mobile unlimited service plan. You may need to adjust your phone’s Access Point Name (APN) settings to ensure compatibility. SIM Kits and phones are sold separately.

Text Messaging and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply when using Family Mobile services. By texting keywords to 611611, you consent to receive response messages related to your inquiry. For complete details, please refer to the Walmart Family Mobile Privacy Policy available at MyFamilyMobile.com.
