To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, we’ve established some practical and functional regulations for all visitors. Whether you’re here for a college meet or a high school event, understanding these guidelines will help you make the most of your visit to our family sports center.
Ticketing Information
To streamline your entry and guarantee your spot, we encourage purchasing tickets in advance. Please note that all ticket sales are final, and event dates and times can be subject to change.
Advance Ticket Purchases
For the most convenient experience, spectators are encouraged to buy tickets online at gvsutickets.com or by calling 616-331-3200. Purchasing in advance not only saves time but also ensures ticket availability for popular events at our family sports center. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm, should you require assistance. Remember, all GVSU athletic event tickets are digital for ease of use and security.
Purchasing Tickets on Event Day
Tickets can be purchased on the day of the event at the Kelly Family Sports Center box office located near the entrance.
- College Meets: The box office opens one hour before the meet starts.
- High School Meets: Walk-up sales are available; however, please note that GVSU is a cashless campus. Only credit card and tap-and-go payments are accepted for on-site purchases at our family sports center. Cash is not accepted.
Will Call and GVSU Athlete Guest Tickets
If you are picking up tickets from will call or are a guest of a GVSU athlete, please head to the designated table inside the entrance doors. Ticket pick-up begins one hour prior to the event start time. A valid photo ID is required for ticket collection.
GVSU Students
Grand Valley State University students enjoy free admission to all regular season meets at the Kelly Family Sports Center! Simply present your valid student ID at the entrance for scanning and enjoy the event.
Infants in Arms
Children aged two and under can enter without a ticket and must sit on an adult’s lap. We want to make our family sports center accessible and enjoyable for even the youngest fans.
Entry and Seating
To help ensure a smooth start to the events, please take note of the door opening times and designated seating areas.
Doors Open
The doors to the Kelly Family Sports Center will open one hour prior to the scheduled start time of each meet. This allows ample time for spectators to enter, find seating, and get ready for the event.
Seating Areas
Spectator seating is located exclusively on the upper level of the Kelly Family Sports Center. The lower level is reserved for athletes and coaches only. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these seating arrangements to maintain the best environment for both participants and viewers at our family sports center.
Prohibited Items
To maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone at the Kelly Family Sports Center, certain items are prohibited. We encourage spectators to bring only necessary items.
- Outside food or drinks are not permitted within the venue.
- Food and drink deliveries to the spectator entrance are not allowed.
- Folding or camping chairs are prohibited inside the sports center.
- Coolers are not allowed.
- Professional camera equipment such as long lens cameras, camcorders, and tripods are not permitted for general spectators.
- Pets are not allowed, with the exception of ADA service animals.
- Artificial noisemakers that could be disruptive are prohibited.
- Promotional items are not allowed unless they are officially distributed by GVSU Athletics or an approved partner.
- Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited.
- Illegal drugs, including medical marijuana, are not permitted on GVSU property.
Parking Information
Free parking is available for all events at the Kelly Family Sports Center in Lots F and G. For your convenience, you can find a detailed campus map HERE to guide you to the best parking areas for our family sports center.
Marketing, Promotions, and Solicitation Policy
Grand Valley State University maintains a no solicitation policy at all athletic events. GVSU Athletics reserves all marketing and promotional rights for events held at the Kelly Family Sports Center.
This includes:
- Restrictions on promotional vehicles and signs on university grounds.
- Exclusive media rights covering video, streaming, social media, and audio broadcasts.
- Prohibition of any unauthorized signage or promotional activities within or around the arena and parking areas during event days. Any unauthorized marketing will be removed at the expense of the owner or group.
- Promotion of businesses, venues, enterprises, products, services, or organizations not expressly authorized by GVSU Athletics is prohibited.
- In accordance with the GVSU Grounds and Facility Use Policy, solicitation is not permitted at any time during events (pre-game, during the game, or post-game). Handing out flyers or promotional items is also prohibited without written consent from GVSU Athletics.
- Only official GVSU Athletics sponsors and partners are granted promotional presence at our venues.

Fan/Patron Conduct Expectations
The NCAA, GLIAC, and GVSU are committed to promoting good sportsmanship. We have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive actions, language, or gestures from fans, athletes, coaches, or officials. Any extreme or repeated unsportsmanlike behavior may result in dismissal from the event. Inappropriate language or actions directed at GVSU Athletics personnel, ushers, or public safety officers will not be tolerated and may lead to immediate removal from the Kelly Family Sports Center and GVSU property. We aim to maintain a respectful and family-friendly atmosphere at our family sports center.
Concessions and Restrooms
Concessions and restrooms are conveniently located inside the Kelly Family Sports Center for all attendees.
