You know that moment when your kids get older and suddenly want to take the reins on Halloween costume choices? After years of Mom-directed family Halloween costumes, I was bracing myself for a tidal wave of pink, glitter, and princess tutus. Then, Anabelle stopped me in my tracks with a brilliant idea: a Family Star Wars Costumes theme! I was instantly excited, even knowing a couple of funny truths: 1. my girls are actually a little scared of Star Wars, and 2. they’ve never even watched any of the movies! BUT, we are massive DISNEY fans, and the buzz around Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland is contagious! Plus, my husband Neil has a secret weapon – he can do an amazing Chewbacca impersonation (talent win!).

Amazon Prime to the Rescue for Family Halloween Costumes
As a self-proclaimed Amazon Prime Mom (seriously, is that trademarked yet?), easy and fast costume delivery was non-negotiable! I needed costumes shipped ASAP. There’s nothing better than having exactly what you need arrive right at your doorstep, which is why Amazon is always my first stop for online shopping. And guess what? Amazon totally delivered (pun intended!) with these family Halloween costumes!
Chewbacca Costume for Dad
This Chewbacca costume is absolutely perfect for Neil! The girls crack up every time he puts it on, and even our dog, Winnie, goes into full bark-at-the-giant-furry-animal mode, convinced Neil is his 6’4″ nemesis! (Neil’s exact costume sold out fast, so we’ve linked to a similar Chewbacca option for you).

Baby Princess Leia Costume
Let’s all agree right now that Millie, our baby Princess Leia, completely stole the show! Is there anything more adorable than a baby Princess Leia? Seriously! I could tell Millie felt like a true princess in this costume. She actually kept the iconic Leia hairpiece on and soaked up all the attention like a champ! And a pro-tip for all toddler costumes: we are obsessed with Freshly Picked Moccs for baby shoes every Halloween. Comfortable shoes are a must for my kids’ costumes, and Freshly Picked moccasins are always the perfect fit.

BB-8 Dress for Toddler
This bubble BB-8 dress is unbelievably cute!!! It’s just bursting with the same bubbly energy as our Lyla! She wanted to wear her hair down with the costume and rock the BB-8 mask, proving she already has a strong sense of personal style!

Darth Vader Costume for Girls
Anabelle, my mini fashionista, decided she wanted to be Darth Vader! Definitely her mother’s daughter, she even had a hairstyle vision to complete the look: SPACE BUNS! This Darth Vader costume totally matches Ani’s sassy and strong personality, and I loved finding this girl version of Darth Vader for her!

Stormtrooper Costume for Mom
My girls were absolutely thrilled about the idea of me dressing up as a Stormtrooper (because, who runs the world? GIRLS!). Thankfully, this Stormtrooper costume was both comfortable and true to size. It was super easy to just throw it on with some black booties and call it a day! (Similar Stormtrooper costume option here.)

Who says a family full of girls can’t totally rock the Star Wars universe? I absolutely loved that we went with this family Halloween costume theme. It was so much fun, and I really believe it showed my girls that they can be powerful and dress up as WHATEVER character inspires them!
