For over a decade, Halloween in our household has meant one thing: The Flintstones! What started as a fun DIY project with Fred and Wilma costumes eleven years ago unexpectedly blossomed into a cherished family tradition. Looking back at the photos, it’s amazing to see how our family – and our Flintstones crew – has grown over the years.
Adding a new character costume each time we welcomed a child wasn’t always a walk in the park, especially with babies and busy life changes. But somehow, year after year, we made it happen. Thank goodness for the forgiving nature of felt and hot glue – my go-to crafting materials! While my costume-making skills might have become a bit more… efficient over time, the forgiving nature of felt has been on my side.
This year marks the end of an era for our dedicated family Flintstones theme. It’s a bittersweet moment, but also an exciting one as the kids are now free to explore any costume their hearts desire!
Our eldest daughter, who once was our baby Pebbles, has officially graduated to the role of the fabulous Betty Rubble. It truly feels like just yesterday she was toddling around in her cave baby outfit. Time really does fly!
