Discover Family Fun at Francis Scott Key Family Resort in Ocean City

Planning a family getaway can be exciting, and finding the perfect spot that caters to both kids and adults is key. When my husband was away on a work trip, I decided to treat my son and his friend to a mini-vacation at Francis Scott Key Family Resort, located in West Ocean City, Maryland. Having heard great things, especially about their “Caribbean Key” indoor pool, we were eager to experience it firsthand.

From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth and welcoming. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient, making us feel immediately at ease. While we had attended birthday parties at the indoor pool before, this was our first hotel stay. We were assigned a room in the “Florida” building, conveniently located right next to the indoor pool – a definite plus when you have excited, and soon-to-be wet, children in tow.

The room itself was clean and spacious, perfectly suited for a small family or group. One of the standout features of the “Florida” building is the inclusion of a kitchenette. Equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishes, it offers families the flexibility to prepare some of their own meals, which can be a great way to manage vacation costs. The room also included a comfortable dining table for four and ample closet space in the bathroom area for storing luggage and clothes.

But the real highlight, as anticipated, was the “Caribbean Key” indoor pool. If you’re traveling with kids, this pool is an absolute must-experience. It’s not just for children either; I noticed plenty of adults having just as much fun. The pool area is designed for all ages, with a shallow section perfect for toddlers and deeper areas for more adventurous swimmers. During our visit, my son and his friend joined in a lively game of pool volleyball with other kids and adults, creating a joyful and friendly atmosphere.

The indoor pool boasts a variety of fun features, including a slide, playful buckets that dump water, and water喷射 guns, ensuring endless entertainment. Inflatable beach balls add to the playful environment, bouncing around and adding to the cheerful chaos. For younger children, a dedicated baby pool area with just six inches of water provides a safe and enjoyable space. Parents can also relax knowing a lifeguard is on duty, carefully supervising the pool area.

For adults seeking relaxation, Francis Scott Key Family Resort hasn’t forgotten you. An adult-only hot tub overlooks the indoor pool area, allowing parents to unwind while still keeping an eye on their children. Additionally, a snack bar within the “Caribbean Key” pool room serves “adult” beverages, offering another layer of relaxation and enjoyment.

Beyond the indoor pool, the resort offers a wide array of amenities to ensure a fun-filled family vacation. During warmer months, guests can enjoy a nice outdoor pool and “sprayground.” The property also features an on-site restaurant, a convenient shuttle bus, free wi-fi, a nine-hole mini-golf course, volleyball and basketball courts, a playground, an arcade, a fitness center, picnic and BBQ areas, a beach shuttle, and even a fishing pond. With so many activities included in the price of your stay, Francis Scott Key Family Resort provides exceptional value and entertainment for families.
