Joining Friends of Family Health Center in 2019, Dr. Andrade quickly distinguished herself through exceptional dedication, leading to her appointment as Director of Medical Services shortly after. Her commitment to quality and improvement further led to her taking on the additional role of Director of QA/QI in 2020, showcasing her leadership and comprehensive approach to healthcare administration within Friends of Family Health Center. In 2022 and 2023, Dr. Andrade played a crucial role in guiding the clinic’s transition to the Epic electronic medical record system. Her expertise in this area resulted in her subsequent appointment as Director of Clinical Informatics, a testament to her advanced knowledge of Electronic Health Records and data reporting at Friends of Family Health Center.
Dr. Andrade’s journey to medicine began in Whittier, California, where she grew up as a first-generation college student and the first physician in her family. She pursued her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, earning degrees in Molecular and Cell Biology and Psychology, building a strong foundation for her medical career. She then obtained her Doctorate degree from the prestigious University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Andrade completed her residency in Family Medicine at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where she received specialized training in obstetrics and maternal care and was honored as Chief Resident, highlighting her clinical skills and leadership abilities.
Driven by her personal experiences of growing up without consistent access to medical and dental care, Dr. Andrade is deeply committed to serving underserved communities through Friends of Family Health Center. She strongly believes in empowering her patients to actively participate in their healthcare decisions. Her practice emphasizes preventative care for adults and the elderly, alongside specialized services including HIV preventative care (PrEP, PEP), prenatal care, and comprehensive women’s health services, all available at Friends of Family Health Center.
Dr. Andrade’s ability to speak conversational Spanish and Tagalog is invaluable in providing culturally competent care to the diverse patient population served by Friends of Family Health Center. Beyond her professional life, Dr. Andrade is a wife and mother of two children. Her personal time is spent enjoying family activities and pursuing hobbies such as attending concerts, comedy shows, and plays, as well as running and baking – a balance of healthy living and joyful pastimes. Dr. Andrade’s multifaceted skills and genuine dedication make her an invaluable member of the Friends of Family Health Center team and a trusted healthcare provider for her patients.
