The YMCA of Central Massachusetts is thrilled to announce the commencement of a significant renovation project at its Greendale Family Branch Ymca Worcester Ma. Working in collaboration with Timberline Construction’s Design-Build Team, this exciting facility improvement, known as the Youth Innovation and Learning Development Hub, is set to begin this spring, promising enhanced services for the youth and teens of Worcester County.
This ambitious 4,000 square foot project at the Greendale Family Branch YMCA Worcester MA will create a dedicated space for children and teens up to 18 years old. The new hub will feature a range of educational, recreational, and social areas, including a state-of-the-art STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) space and a dedicated Teen Center. This innovative hub is designed to benefit YMCA members, childcare participants, and summer campers alike.

The thoughtfully designed Youth Innovation and Learning Development Hub at Greendale Family Branch YMCA Worcester MA will offer diverse learning opportunities for children and YMCA staff. A key feature is the STEAM Lab, envisioned as a collaborative environment where young minds can explore, experiment, and achieve a sense of accomplishment through hands-on activities. The Teen Center will provide a crucial space for older youth, equipped with a tech bar, social zones, and enrichment areas designed to foster confidence and pride as they navigate the transition from childhood to adolescence within the community. Furthermore, a secure gross motor space will cater to the youngest YMCA members, providing a safe and stimulating environment for them to take their first steps, engage in play, and build early friendships.
Christina Puleo, Senior Executive Director of the Greendale Family Branch YMCA Worcester MA, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are beyond thrilled to have the support of our local community, which played a vital role in making this renovation a reality.” She further added, “We are delighted to partner with Timberline Construction’s expert in-house architectural design and construction management teams, who will guide us through this design-build renovation, with completion anticipated before the year’s end.”
