Looking for the ideal fall family adventure? When my in-laws came to town, we wanted to discover a fun and engaging activity suitable for all ages. Our search led us to the newly opened Naylor Family Farm in Fuquay-Varina, and it turned out to be an excellent choice for a memorable pumpkin patch experience and so much more.
Before embarking on our pumpkin quest at Naylor Family Farm, we decided to have lunch at Aviator’s Smokehouse in downtown Fuquay-Varina. For anyone planning a visit, I highly recommend trying their wings paired with a beer flight – a truly delicious combination! My husband, Bill, thoroughly enjoyed the Monster sandwich, a meat-lover’s dream with four different types of meat, along with the Oktoberfest beer. It was the perfect way to fuel up for our afternoon of family fun.
Just a short drive south, we arrived at Naylor Family Farm. While it’s not a typical park, it’s brimming with fantastic outdoor activities perfect for the entire family. Being a new establishment, it wasn’t crowded, allowing us to explore everything at our own pace. We opted for the Master Pass, priced at $15 per person, which granted us access to all the attractions. They offer various admission passes to cater to different interests. Naylor Family Farm boasts a large and engaging corn maze, a relaxing hayride that takes you directly to the pumpkin patch, a charming petting zoo, exciting barrel slides, and a straw bale playground that the kids absolutely adored. They also have a wide selection of larger pumpkins and other fall produce available for purchase. The Naylor family themselves were incredibly friendly and welcoming, clearly enthusiastic about their first year of operation. It’s a wonderful place to support local and enjoy quality family time.
After a delightful afternoon at the Naylor Family Farm pumpkin patch, our day of fall festivities continued as we joined the RTP Hokies to cheer on Virginia Tech against Wake Forest at Carolina Ale House.
With the last weekend of October approaching, I encourage everyone to get out and savor these wonderful fall activities. Naylor Family Farm is open until November 5th, Aviator Brewing Company is still serving their Oktoberfest, and you can catch the Hokies playing at Duke at 12:30pm! Don’t forget to explore other Halloween activities in the area as well for a complete fall experience.
Happy Fall and Happy Halloween!
