Nudist Family at Home: Embrace Natural Living at Kaniksu Ranch Resort

Discover the unique freedom and family-friendly atmosphere at Kaniksu Ranch Family Nudist Resort, a haven where natural living and community spirit thrive. Since 1939, we’ve welcomed families of all shapes and sizes to experience the joy of nude recreation in a safe and supportive environment. While Kaniksu Ranch is a clothing-optional resort on special event days like Bare Buns Fun Run, our core philosophy embraces a naturally nude lifestyle, fostering a sense of belonging reminiscent of a “Nudist Family At Home.” First-time visitors often find themselves comfortable undressing within just thirty minutes of arrival, a testament to our welcoming and non-judgmental atmosphere. We are a resort for families, from the youngest babies to great-grandparents, all enjoying the simple pleasures of sun, sports, social gatherings, and relaxation in our natural setting. Anyone visiting with alternative motives or behaving inappropriately will be respectfully asked to leave, ensuring a safe space for all. Please note, for the privacy and comfort of our guests, cameras of any kind are not permitted anywhere on the resort, and we request that cell phones remain in vehicles.

A Family-Friendly Nudist Haven

Affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR), Kaniksu Ranch provides a secluded and beautiful 260-acre escape, far removed from the everyday hustle. Finding us is part of the adventure! Located beyond Deer Lake, heading north on North Deer Lake Road, you’ll encounter a locked gate. Simply call our office in advance for the combination. Follow the signs through the forest, turn left at the four-way junction, and continue down the road until you reach our rustic entryway. Once you arrive, check in at the office, located on the left, directly across from the swimming pool and swim spa. Valid ID is required for check-in. Our office area offers convenient amenities, including lockers, a small kitchen with refrigerator/freezer access (space limited during peak weekends), and refreshing outdoor showers. For recreation, we have pickleball and bocce ball courts, a children’s playground, and horseshoe pits all conveniently located near the office. Inside the office building, you’ll find restrooms, a shower, a coin-operated washer and dryer for towels, and a relaxing sauna.

Venture a bit further north, near the flagpole, to discover a delightful pond, home to our resident turtles. This pond once served as the resort’s original swimming pool! Just above the grassy area northwest of the pond is Offerdahl Hall, our clubhouse. Enjoy the spacious deck with tables and chairs and utilize our BBQ grills for outdoor cooking. During the summer season, join us for breakfast and dinner in the clubhouse on Saturdays and breakfast on Sundays. We also offer ten rooms for rent above the clubhouse – please inquire at the office for availability. Inside the clubhouse, you’ll find a community refrigerator, microwave, additional seating, a TV, and a cozy sitting area with a large wood-burning stove, currently being remodeled for enhanced comfort. Outside the clubhouse, you’ll find more restrooms, indoor showers, and a hot tub. Remember, swimsuits are not permitted in the pool, hot tub, or swim spa, and we kindly request everyone to shower before entering to maintain the cleanliness of our water.

Explore and Connect with Nature

Our expansive 260-acre resort offers diverse camping and RV sites throughout the property, with electric and water hookups available at select locations. The terrain is gently hilly, inviting exploration with numerous trails perfect for walking, hiking, and biking. We are a pet-friendly resort, welcoming your furry companions, provided they are always leashed and that you clean up after them to ensure everyone enjoys our trails. While pets are welcome on roads, trails, and campgrounds, they are not permitted in buildings or facilities. Please be mindful of wildlife, including moose, and keep pets secure.

Bare Buns Fun Run: A Highlight Event

Our annual Bare Buns Fun Run (BBFR) is our most celebrated event, drawing participants globally. Always held on the last Sunday of July, this nude race welcomes everyone to participate partially, fully nude, or clothed, as they prefer. During the BBFR weekend, the resort transitions to clothing optional. Tent and RV sites fill quickly, so reserve your spot early! Spectators are welcome to enjoy the race for free on Sunday. Typically hosting around 400 participants, the BBFR weekend is filled with music and dancing on Friday and Saturday, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

Visit and Become Part of Our Family

Kaniksu Ranch is open seven days a week from Memorial Weekend to Labor Day, with weekends being our busiest times. Membership is not required to visit and experience our beautiful resort. We proudly welcome individuals and families of all ages, body types, marital statuses, races, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. We believe you’ll find Kaniksu Ranch to be more than just a resort; it’s a community, a “nudist family at home” away from home, where you can embrace natural living and create lasting memories. We look forward to welcoming you!
