Our Physicians
Carl C. Sarnacki M.D.
Dr. Carl C. Sarnacki is the founder of Orion Family Physicians, establishing the practice in 1992. For five years, he served the community as a solo practitioner, building the foundation of what Orion Family Physicians is today. Dr. Sarnacki is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, a testament to his expertise and dedication to family medicine. He completed his residency training at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI, demonstrating his commitment to local healthcare. His medical degree is from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI, and his undergraduate degree was earned at Marquette University in Wisconsin. Dr. Sarnacki’s long-standing presence in the community highlights his commitment to providing consistent and reliable care.
Erik Zuckerberg, M.D.
Dr. Erik Zuckerberg joined Orion Family Physicians in 1997, becoming the second physician in the practice. He is a partner at Orion Family Physicians and shares the leadership and vision for patient care. Like Dr. Sarnacki, Dr. Zuckerberg completed his residency training at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI, and obtained his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. Dr. Zuckerberg’s long tenure at Orion Family Physicians reflects his dedication to the practice and the community it serves.
Jennifer Prohow, D.O.
Dr. Jennifer Prohow is the third partner at Orion Family Physicians, joining the practice in 2007. She completed her residency training at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI, and is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Demonstrating her commitment to continuous professional development, Dr. Prohow was pursuing a second board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine in November 2011. She earned her medical degree from the University Of Health Sciences College Of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO, after completing her undergraduate training at Michigan State University. Dr. Prohow’s osteopathic training adds a unique dimension to the comprehensive care offered at Orion Family Physicians.
Ashley K. Aragona, M.D.
Dr. Ashley K. Aragona is a more recent addition to Orion Family Physicians, joining in 2021. A Michigan native, Dr. Aragona completed her undergraduate training at Michigan State University before obtaining her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine on St. Maarten. Her residency in family medicine was completed through Wayne State University at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital, where she also served as chief resident in her final year, showcasing her leadership and clinical skills. Dr. Aragona is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is dedicated to providing excellent care to her patients while enjoying her Michigan roots with family and friends.
Alyssa N. Reitsma, M.D.
Dr. Alyssa N. Reitsma is an exciting addition to Orion Family Physicians, joining in the summer of 2024. Returning to her hometown of Rochester, MI, after completing her undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, Dr. Reitsma earned her medical degree from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at William Beaumont Hospital/Corewell Health in Troy, MI, and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Further demonstrating her commitment to comprehensive patient care, Dr. Reitsma plans to achieve a second board certification through the American Board of Obesity Medicine, expanding the services offered at Orion Family Physicians.
Hanna W. Hanna, M.D.
Dr. Hanna W. Hanna is also joining Orion Family Physicians in the summer of 2024, further strengthening our physician team. Born and raised in Michigan, Dr. Hanna received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University and continued at Wayne State University School of Medicine for his medical degree. He completed his residency training through Wayne State University at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital and is board certified by the American Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Hanna’s local roots and dedication to family medicine align perfectly with the values of Orion Family Physicians, and he enjoys outdoor activities and traveling in his free time.

Melissa Drallos, P.A.-C
Melissa Drallos, P.A.-C, was the first physician assistant to join Orion Family Physicians in 2007, pioneering the integration of PAs into our practice. Board certified by the NCCPA after passing the Physician Assistant National Certification Exam in 2005, Mrs. Drallos earned her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan. Her early adoption into Orion Family Physicians highlights the practice’s commitment to a team-based approach to healthcare.
Elizabeth Alkatib Asmar PA-C
Elizabeth Alkatib Asmar PA-C joined Orion Family Physicians, further expanding our team of skilled physician assistants. Ms. Alkatib is board certified by the NCCPA, having passed the Physician Assistant National Certification Exam in 2015. She also holds a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, demonstrating Wayne State University’s strong representation within our provider team. Her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Food Science, also from Wayne State University, brings an additional area of expertise to her patient care approach.
Bridget Wille, PA-C
Bridget Wille, PA-C, is a valued physician assistant at Orion Family Physicians, board certified by the NCCPA after passing her certification exam in 2017. She completed her Masters of Physicians Assistant Studies from University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY, and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-Health Professional concentration from Oakland University, showcasing local educational ties. Brendan Wille, PA-C
Brendan Wille, PA-C, is the latest physician assistant to join Orion Family Physicians, achieving board certification by the NCCPA in 2024. He earned his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Detroit Mercy and his Bachelor degree in Health Science with a concentration in Pre-Health Professional studies from Oakland University, reinforcing our team’s strong local educational connections. Mr. Wille’s recent certification and addition to the team bring fresh perspectives and skills to Orion Family Physicians.

Cheryl Ledesma, FNP-BC
Cheryl Ledesma, FNP-BC, was the first Family Nurse Practitioner to become part of Orion Family Physicians in 2013, expanding our care team to include advanced nursing practice. Board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in 2012, Mrs. Ledesma earned her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. With a nursing career dating back to 1998, Mrs. Ledesma brings a wealth of practical experience and advanced nursing expertise to our patients.
Kirk DeHerder, FNP-BC
Kirk DeHerder, FNP-BC, is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Orion Family Physicians in 2022. He obtained his board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in 2020. Mr. DeHerder’s career path includes obtaining a Bachelor’s in Nursing at the University of Michigan-Flint in 2016 and starting as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. He furthered his education with a Master’s in Nursing at Oakland University in 2020 and worked as an internal medicine nurse practitioner before joining our team, bringing diverse experience to Orion Family Physicians.
Rachel Doyle, FNP-BC
Rachel Doyle, FNP-BC, joined Orion Family Physicians in 2022 and is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in 2022. Her extensive nursing background includes an Associates in Nursing at Oakland Community College in 2011, a Bachelor’s in Nursing at the University of Texas in 2017, ten years in Emergency Department nursing, and three years in Labor & Delivery. She completed her Master’s in Nursing at Oakland University in 2022, culminating her advanced practice education and bringing a broad spectrum of nursing experience to our practice.
