Katy Conley Pepper, a cherished member of the Pepper family and the Barrington, IL community, passed away peacefully on February 25th, 2020, in Sarasota, FL, surrounded by her loving family. At the age of 58, Katy was the beloved wife of the late Dave Pepper and a devoted mother to Ali, Lauren, and Colin Pepper.
Katy’s life was marked by service and dedication to others. She was deeply involved at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, where she was known for her tireless work in various ministries. Her contributions to the All Women of St. Michael’s (AWSM) and the parish youth ministry were particularly significant. Beyond the church, Katy extended her caring spirit to numerous organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Arden House, Bishop Anderson House, Cathedral Shelter, St. Cyprian’s Christmas Baskets, and the Church of the Redeemer Soup Kitchen. She was also a Life Loyal Charter Member of the Omega chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Iowa State University, where she first met Dave. Graduating from Iowa State, Katy and Dave built a beautiful life together, raising their three children and sharing passions for cooking, travel, boating, and spending quality time with loved ones.
Katy is survived by her mother, Rosalie Conley, her sisters, Mary Ann Greiner and Margaret Conley, and her brother, Robert Conley. She will be profoundly missed by her children, her close friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial visitation to celebrate Katy’s life will be held on Friday, March 6th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, located at 647 Dundee Avenue, Barrington. A memorial service will follow on Saturday, March 7th at 10:00 AM at the same location. Additional parking will be available at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church across the street at 720 Dundee Avenue.
