Venturing into the realm of bizarre cartoon cuisine, my latest culinary adventure led me to the Peter Griffin Car Panini. Before embarking on this Family Guy inspired recipe, I faced a crucial realization – I lacked a panini press. Recalling my previous escapade making Homer’s Patented Space-Age Out of This World Moon Waffles, I knew a thrift store run was in order to find an affordable appliance. To my utter amusement, I stumbled upon a Hello Kitty panini press for a mere $5!
Hello-Kitty-Panini-Press
This Hello Kitty panini press seemed untouched, possibly a novelty purchase collecting dust. A slight concern arose – would it even function? A test panini was essential, though disappointingly, it didn’t unlock time travel or trigger any pirate-themed tangents, unlike some classic Peter Griffin cutaways. Nevertheless, the Hello Kitty press proved its worth!
Ingredients
- 2 slices white bread
- 3 hot dogs
- 4 peanut butter cups
- Doritos
- 1 Cadbury egg
Directions
Lay out two slices of white bread and arrange hot dogs on one slice. Next, stack peanut butter cups on top of the hot dogs, followed by a generous layer of crumbled Doritos. Crown the concoction with a cracked Cadbury egg.
Cover everything with the second slice of bread. Place the sandwich in the panini press for several minutes, allowing the bread to turn golden brown and the chocolate to melt into gooey goodness.

The Car Panini, conceived from the chaotic mind of Peter Griffin, sounds intriguingly delicious in theory. However, in practice, it lands in the realm of just “okay.” While every bite was consumed, true enjoyment was debatable. The culprit? The double dose of chocolate from both the peanut butter cups and the Cadbury egg proved overwhelming, overshadowing the hot dogs and Doritos. Interestingly, a bite devoid of chocolate, featuring only hot dogs and Doritos, was surprisingly palatable. Perhaps there’s a simpler, less sweet sandwich idea buried within this Peter Griffin creation for a daring lunch.
Peter-Griffin-Car-Panini-3
This episode featuring Peter Griffin’s food truck teems with more outlandish recipe possibilities: jelly donut hamburgers, hot dog straw drinks, M&M and Dr. Pepper cereal, and Swedish fish tacos. Venturing to recreate these might confine me to the house indefinitely post-consumption, but maybe that’s a risk worth taking for the sake of cartoon cuisine inspired by Peter Griffin and Family Guy.
