Your Role at Renaissance Family Practice
As the LPN Lead at Renaissance Family Practice, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our outpatient clinic. Working Monday through Friday with varied hours (ranging from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM) to accommodate our clinical schedule, you will enjoy a healthy work-life balance with no weekend or holiday shifts (select holidays off).
In addition to delivering high-quality professional nursing care, you will also take on leadership responsibilities, potentially leading the diabetes clinic flow team. Your duties will include:
- Assessing patient conditions, monitoring vital signs, and recording patient history.
- Training and mentoring fellow LPNs and Medical Assistants (MAs), fostering a collaborative and skilled clinical team.
- Providing valuable input on performance reviews for LPNs/MAs, contributing to team development.
- Administering medications (oral, SQ, IM) and IV fluids under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Maintaining meticulous documentation of all patient interactions, treatments, and medication administration within electronic medical records.
- Managing clinical supplies, ensuring the clinic is well-equipped.
- Performing phlebotomy and endocrine testing as needed.
- Upholding strict patient confidentiality and adhering to all HIPAA guidelines.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies such as OSHA, CLIA, and the PA Department of Health.
- Assisting physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments, directly contributing to patient care.
- Effectively assigning clinic staff to support physicians and extenders daily, optimizing workflow.
- Promoting patient wellness through education and clear communication of physician instructions.
- Collaborating with the clinical manager to resolve any clinic-related challenges.
Qualifications to Thrive
To excel as the LPN Lead at Renaissance Family Practice, candidates should possess:
- Graduation from an accredited LPN nursing program.
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience to provide expert patient care.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide and mentor team members.
- Comprehensive knowledge of department and system-wide policies and procedures.
- Current LPN licensure in Pennsylvania or a compact state.
- CPR certification meeting AHA standards (didactic and skills demonstration).
- Required clearances: Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance.
Note: LPNs who graduated outside of PA or prior to August 25, 2012, without a PA-approved LPN IV course may need to complete a brief online module and in-person course provided by UPMC Altoona Education Department.
