Discover Integrative Family Medicine at Hudson Family for Holistic Health

Integrative medicine offers a patient-centered approach to healthcare, focusing on treating the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. At Hudson Family, we embrace the principles of Integrative Family Medicine to provide comprehensive and personalized care for individuals and families. We combine the best of conventional medicine with evidence-based complementary therapies to promote optimal health and well-being across all stages of life.

What is Integrative Family Medicine?

Integrative family medicine goes beyond simply treating symptoms. It’s a healing-oriented approach that emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient. We believe in addressing the root causes of illness while considering all aspects of your lifestyle, from physical health to emotional well-being and spiritual wellness. This means we utilize a broad range of therapeutic approaches, integrating conventional medical treatments with complementary and alternative therapies that are appropriate and safe for your individual needs.

Comprehensive Primary Care Services

Hudson Family provides a full spectrum of primary care services for patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors. Our commitment to integrative family medicine means we incorporate a holistic perspective into every aspect of your care.

Management of Acute and Chronic Conditions

We offer expert diagnosis and management of both acute illnesses like infections and injuries, and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. Our approach extends beyond medication to include lifestyle modifications, nutritional guidance, and stress management techniques to support long-term health and improve your quality of life.

Preventative and Wellness Care

Preventative care is a cornerstone of integrative family medicine. We provide routine health maintenance exams, gynecological exams, well-child visits, and sports physicals, all focused on proactive health strategies. We emphasize lifestyle counseling, including nutrition and exercise, to prevent illness and promote wellness.

Integrated Women’s Health

Our gynecological exams are conducted with a focus on whole-body wellness. We address women’s health concerns with both conventional and integrative approaches, considering hormonal balance, lifestyle factors, and emotional well-being.

Coordinated Specialty Care

Navigating the healthcare system can be complex. We provide seamless coordination of care with specialty physicians when needed, ensuring a collaborative approach to your health.

Minor Surgical Procedures and Immunizations

We offer a range of minor surgical procedures within the comfort of our clinic. Staying up-to-date on immunizations is crucial for public health, and we provide all recommended vaccines for children and adults.

Hospital Care and Diabetic Education

For patients requiring hospital treatment at CVMC, our providers ensure continuity of care through the Hospitalist Program. Recognizing the importance of patient education in managing chronic conditions, we offer comprehensive diabetic education to empower patients to take control of their health.

Family Planning and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

We provide comprehensive family planning services to support your reproductive health choices. Furthermore, we offer a compassionate Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program for opioid addiction, integrating medication with supportive therapies to aid recovery.

Integrated Mental Health Support through PCMHI

Recognizing the inseparable link between mental and physical health, Hudson Family is proud to offer Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI). This program embeds mental health professionals directly within our primary care practice.

Accessible Mental Health Care

PCMHI makes mental health care more accessible and convenient for our patients. If your primary care provider identifies a mental health concern such as depression or anxiety, a referral to PCMHI connects you with a specialized team within our practice.

Collaborative and Personalized Treatment

The PCMHI team collaborates closely with your primary care physician to develop a comprehensive and personalized treatment plan. This may include medication recommendations, therapy options, and referrals to other community resources, all within the familiar setting of your primary care office.

Rehabilitation Therapy Services

Central Vermont Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Therapy services complement our integrative approach by focusing on restoring function and mobility. Our skilled therapists utilize diverse therapies to facilitate healing and help you return to your active life as quickly as possible. Emergency and After-Hours Care

We prioritize emergency situations and provide 24-hour physician coverage. In case of an emergency during regular office hours, you will receive immediate attention. For after-hours emergencies, please call our main office number for instructions. The on-call physician will return your call if needed. In extreme emergencies, please call 911 directly and identify yourself as a Hudson Family patient upon arrival at the hospital.

Convenient Test Result Access

We understand the importance of timely access to your test results. If you have a follow-up appointment scheduled, your provider will discuss results with you during your visit. Otherwise, lab results are conveniently published to our secure patient portal. If you haven’t yet enrolled in the patient portal, please contact our office to sign up. For any lab or imaging results outside the normal range, a nurse or clinician will promptly contact you to discuss the findings and next steps. Access Practice Portal.

Fees and Payment Options

Payment for services is required at the time of your visit. As a convenience, we directly bill Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicaid, Medicare, MVP, and Cigna. We also accept cash, checks, MasterCard, and Visa. While we may bill other insurance companies as a courtesy, ultimate payment responsibility rests with the patient. For patients who qualify, we offer a Financial Assistance Plan. Co-pays are due at the time of service.

Appointment Guidelines

To best serve all our patients, we request 24 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations. This allows us to offer your appointment time to another patient in need. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to complete any necessary paperwork. Punctuality is appreciated; arriving more than 5 minutes late may require rescheduling your appointment. Kindly inform us of any changes to your contact information or insurance details to ensure your records remain current.

At Hudson Family, we are dedicated to providing integrative family medicine that puts you at the center of your care. Contact us today to experience healthcare that values your whole being.
