Looking for the ultimate outdoor escape for your family? River Riders Family Adventure Resort offers the only waterfront camping experience in the historic Harpers Ferry area! Whether you’re a seasoned camper or new to sleeping under the stars, our campground has a tent site perfectly suited to your needs. Imagine waking up to the gentle sounds of the river with our premium riverfront sites, or perhaps you prefer the tranquility of our trailside and secluded hike-in island sites. For those seeking a touch more convenience, our clifftop and deluxe tent sites provide the ideal blend of nature and comfort, with select deluxe sites even offering electricity and water hookups.
Our tent sites are designed exclusively for tent camping, ensuring a peaceful and tent-centric environment. If you’re traveling with a popup camper or prefer car camping, we recommend exploring our RV sites or River View Trailside sites, especially if you don’t require water, electricity, or sewer connections. We prioritize accessibility, and our campground features a handicap-accessible bathhouse equipped with three showers, along with a portable restroom trailer providing running water for your convenience.
What truly sets River Riders Family Adventure Resort camping apart is its breathtaking and unique location. Our campground is nestled within an active and exciting mixed-use area. Adding to the thrill, the final zip line of the renowned Harpers Ferry Zipline Canopy Tour soars overhead in certain sections of our Cabin, RV, and Deluxe Tent sites, providing an exciting spectacle. Our convenient boat launch serves as a drop-off point for River Riders guests embarking on water adventures. For those eager to explore the historic town, a scenic 1.5-mile walking and biking trail directly connects our campground to the heart of Harpers Ferry. And for on-site fun, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards are readily available for rent, allowing you to easily enjoy the river right from your campsite.
It’s important to be aware that an active railroad track runs adjacent to our campground, along with a nearby one-way tunnel. Trains operate 24/7, although the frequency varies, and you might hear train horns echoing from the tunnel. If you are a light sleeper, we recommend bringing earplugs to ensure a restful night’s sleep. Additionally, our zipline canopy tour operates above a portion of the campground during daytime hours. Check-in for camping is at 3 PM at our main office located at 408 Alstadts Hill Rd, Harpers Ferry, and check-out is at 11 AM.
