A graduate of the esteemed University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Dr. Cyr brings a robust foundation in physiology to her practice of Virginia family dentistry. Her passion for healthy living permeates her professional approach, influencing how she cares for her patients every day. Outside of her dedication to dentistry, Dr. Cyr enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle, indulging in activities like cross country skiing, running, and mountain biking. She also finds joy in cooking nutritious meals with whole foods and tackling home improvement projects. At the heart of her life are her beloved family: her husband, Brad, their daughter, Maven, and their charming pug, Klaus.
Dr. Cyr’s journey in healthcare began at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, where she excelled as a Division I athlete in cross country skiing and track. Her undergraduate experience instilled in her two invaluable skills: the ability to analyze complex issues from multiple perspectives and a commitment to lifelong learning. She graduated cum laude in 2009 with a degree in physiology, setting a strong academic stage for her future in Virginia family dentistry.
During her dental school years, Dr. Cyr demonstrated remarkable initiative by taking on leadership roles in both the Pediatric Dental Club and the Women’s Dental Association. Her commitment to advancing dental knowledge extended to public health research, which earned her the prestigious Student Clinician of the ADA Award. This accolade led to a trip to Washington, DC, where she presented her research at the ADA Annual Conference in 2016. Further enriching her dental education, Dr. Cyr participated in a mission trip to Guatemala during her senior year, providing essential dental care in a community clinic, an experience that broadened her understanding of diverse needs within Virginia family dentistry and beyond.
Since establishing her career, Dr. Cyr has relentlessly pursued continuing education, with a particular focus on dental sleep medicine, airway dentistry, and pediatric orthodontics. She is passionate about sharing her specialized knowledge with her patients, educating them on the crucial role of airway health and sleep in not only their dental health but also their broader systemic health.
